Accounts software can fulfill call to cut carbon footprints

Businesses and individuals in Ireland are being urged to do all they can to help combat climate change.

As concern about global warming increases, Irish environment minister John Gormley has urged companies and consumers to examine their carbon footprints.

The green party leader suggests that everyone must examine the environmental impact of the decisions they make.

He explained: "The big commitment that we want people to make is to reduce and to manage their carbon emissions so that together we can reduce Ireland's carbon emissions and tackle climate change."

The Irish government has launched a new scheme, Change, which is designed to increase awareness of climate change issues in the country.

Carbon accounts software can be used by businesses to reduce their carbon footprints and highlight areas where efficiencies can be achieved.

Businesses are under increasing pressure from clients and consumers to improve their green credentials and reduce their carbon footprints.

Research conducted by Behaviour and Attitudes in April this year discovered that 82 per cent of people in Ireland are now concerned about climate change.
