Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance

Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance has a Diocese which ministers to a population of 1.2 million.  It covers much of Hampshire, part of Dorset and the Channel Islands.  It worships in over 400 churches and Winchester Cathedral is a focal point for the whole Diocese.  It has 30,000 regular worshipping members and 20,000 young people attend church schools throughout the Diocese.

Over 300 ordained clergy and more than 200 Readers and other Ministers serve in over 300 parishes, in education, hospital and prison chaplaincies, and in other specialist forms of ministry.

It was their need for flexibility in the Nominal Code analysis that persuaded Winchester Diocesan Board of Finance to try Access Accounts.  “The flexibility of the Access Nominal Ledger coding structure means I can analyse and report in a number of different ways it is tremendously helpful and time saving.  I can print the Trial Balance analysed into management accounts order or statutory accounts order so easily,” said Finance Manager Stephen Collyer.

“I can post into next year even though I haven’t finished the current year through the Future Period Posting feature which is another great benefit.  Plus I have complete integration of Payroll with the Nominal Ledger which has streamlined my management accounts while cutting out all the manual journals.”
