BSIA

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is the country’s leading professional trade association for the security industry.  Its member companies are responsible for more than 70% of security business undertaken in the UK including manned security services, alarm systems, CCTV, physical security equipment, access control and transport.

BSIA were attracted to Access Accounts because they wanted rapid workflow.  “Our department handles the accounts for three companies all requiring different aspects of the package.  Access fulfils all requirements.  One mainly uses the Stock Control Module with 20,000 invoices to manage.  Another mainly uses the Sales Order Module, Purchase and Nominal Ledgers.  BSIA itself uses despatch notes and sales analysis codes numbering 250 which I’ve never seen on other software, and we could handle an unlimited number of analysis codes if we needed to,” said IT Manager Alan Barwell.<br>
“The flexibility on the number of codes and the way you can group and report on them is extraordinary.  For example we don’t want standard profit and loss reports, we need to group and classify reports differently for different management departments.  We sort on Access’ clever user keys so that the profit and loss is completely re-structured and produced in different formats for different management groups at the touch of a key.”
